Stormwater Drainage Manual
Update |

 |
After much work over the past few years by city staff and consultants, the updated
City of Columbus
Stormwater Drainage Manual was completed. After
public notice in the City Bulletin on February 25, the new
manual is now in effect, as of March 20, 2006.
The
manual was developed with the following goals in mind: to
reduce the effects of flooding and stream-bank erosion
resulting from new development and to introduce OEPA
requirements for post-construction best management
practices to protect surface water quality. In developing
the manual, a Stormwater Advisory Group consisting of
local watershed coordinators, university representatives,
state agency representatives, building industry
representatives, engineering consultants and city
personnel was enlisted to provide assistance and input to
the city during the policy development process. Other
public input opportunities were provided through public
meetings. Many public comments were received and
reviewed.
